The real-time production possibilities state-of-the-art UV inkjet single pass printing technology delivers will be demonstrated by Durst’s new Tau 330 RSC, at Labelexpo Americas, Chicago, September 25 to 27, booth 5901.
Among the highlights of the system, that will engage visitors and present business winning opportunities, is its high printing resolution, unmatched printing speed and 8 color printing stations.
The Tau 330 RSC is a UV inkjet label and package printing press featuring 330 mm (13 in.) print width combined with leading edge print speed of up to 78 linear meters/min (245 ft./min) at a resolution of 1200 x 1200 dpi. It runs at 1.485 m2 per hour, and thanks to its 8 color stations (CMYK+W+OVG) with new designed high pigmented inks, it delivers outstanding, flexo-like print quality with close to 95% Pantone color gamut coverage.
In line with Durst’s commitment to helping customers “Configure Your Digital Future”, the Tau 330 RSC is available as stand-alone version or can be configured as “digital – flexo hybrid press” with OMET’s Xflex series of conventional finishing options. The result is unlimited material flexibility for a vast range of applications.
Its configuration options include jumbo unwinder and material pre-treatment options like inline corona, web cleaner, priming as well as post press finishing options like varnishing, cold foil, lamination, die-cutting, slitting and rewinding.
Live demonstrations by the Tau 330 RSC will highlight the range of applications possible. Also on live demonstration will be the Durst powered OMET XJet. Both systems will be distributed by OMET US in North America.

Durst and OMET have formed a strategic partnership in North America that allows OMET exclusive access for sales of the Durst Tau product line, effective from August 1 with full implementation expected by Label Expo Americas 2018, where the new Tau 330 RSC will be showcased as a stand-alone label press system as well as in-line with the new OMET XJet digital-flexo hybrid press.
The new partnership will provide label printers extended engineering capabilities, added services, and combined digital and flexo printing expertise from a single source. Furthermore the combined efforts are a natural fit of two premier brands, extends the reach of both companies in North America, and by utilizing OMET’s Chicago, IL office provides a central convenient location for customer demonstrations and faster sample turnaround time. Brixen, Italy - 05/07/2018 - Durst, an inkjet pioneer and manufacturer of advanced digital production technologies, has helped Gabel Group to transform its retail business and open up more export trade in a partnership approach. A major household linen producer and retailer based in the heart of Italy's textile area, Gabel has invested in Durst's Alpha 330 super high-performance multi-pass printer with the One-Step Greentex P ink.
Gabel Group is achieving industrial scale digital production with its Durst Alpha 330 printer at its headquarters near Milan and is now looking to invest in a second system to meet the evolving customer requirements of ever-shorter print runs and specialist customization for its business as it continues to diversify and expand into new markets.
"The face of retail is changing," said Michele Moltrasio, Chairman and President of Gabel Group. "Today many of the orders involve printing hundreds of metres instead of thousands of metres as in the past, but numbers of orders are going up hugely. Retail shops want different designs and colours every two to three weeks because they want to continue developing new ideas and new collections. As we continue to expand our export market, which we anticipate will double within a year to around 20% of our business, digital will become even more important because virtually every European country has different specifications for its linen requirements. The Durst Alpha 330 is a perfect fit for us.
"We chose Durst because it is the best possible supplier and best quality for digital," said Mr Moltrasio. Gabel Group has three factories, is a €60m turnover business and employs 400 people, of whom half work in its 40 retail shops across Italy and the rest in the production plants and offices. The Alpha 330 uses the Durst One-Step Greentex P ink, which was developed especially for the Alpha Series of printers. The environmentally friendly pigment inks are based on Durst Water Technology. Materials such as cottons, polyesters and polycottons do not require pre- and post-treatment with this ink, so the whole process is accelerated and simplified, and is nearly a "dry" process.

Brixen/Italy - 12.06.2018 - Durst, a manufacturer of advanced digital printing and production technologies, is helping Taiwan customer Sanyo Tile Group to enhance its production quality with two Durst Gamma 108XD ceramic printers.
Sanyo recently installed two new Gamma 108 XD 4.0 printers from Durst with its first production of 125 x 600 mm floor tiles with a stunning wood effect and 300 x 600 mm wall tiles with a very delicate marble design. This version of the innovative and flexible 8-color inkjet ceramic printer series with a printing width up to 1000 mm for the decoration of all tile widths up to 90 cm fired, assures high printing quality and reliability with Durst's High Definition print head technology and integrated "Adaptive Dot Placement Technology". The latter guarantees banding-free printing and color consistency across the entire printing width.
Thanks to its completely redesigned ink and print head management technology the new Gamma XD Series assure a total nozzle stability with no banding or missing lines and in case of print head replacement, Durst pre-aligned, low cost print heads allowing them to be replaced quickly and simply by the operator. Maximum productivity is facilitated by a high uptime (> 95%) and an easy-maintenance design, with accessible working parts, and innovative fully retractable belt-cleaning.

Brixen, Italien - 06.06.2018 - Durst, Hersteller von zukunftsweisenden digitalen Druck- und Produktionstechnologien, erweitert ab Herbst 2018 sein internes Traineeprogramm mit einem berufsbegleitenden Studium am Management Center Innsbruck.
Um für die Zukunft gerüstet zu sein und über genügend qualifizierte Techniker für die Entwicklung und Fertigung der industriellen Drucksysteme zu verfügen, hatte Durst in 2017 ein internes Traineeprogramm für technische Maturanten gestartet. Die Nachwuchskräfte durchlaufen dabei verschiedene Abteilungen und werden in technischen Disziplinen geschult. Nach erfolgreichem Abschluss qualifizieren sich die Teilnehmer für mittlere technische Positionen in Festeinstellung.
Doch für Durst ist es wichtig, seinem Nachwuchs auch Perspektiven aufzuzeigen und ihnen weitere Qualifikationen zu ermöglichen, die im Umkehrschluss auch als Wissenstransfer zurück in das Unternehmen fließen. Aus diesem Grund hat Durst nun eine Kooperation mit der Fachhochschule MCI für den Studiengang Mechatronik geschlossen.
Das Angebot beinhaltet ein berufsbegleitendes Studium mit Schwerpunkt Mechanik oder Elektrotechnik. Die Qualifikation erfolgt nach erfolgreichem Abschluss einer einjährigen Ausbildung und zweijähriger Berufserfahrung bei der Durst. Anschließend übernimmt Durst die Studiengebühren für das MCI und der Studierende investiert einen Teil seiner Freizeit für Präsenztage und Seminare am Wochenende. Während der gesamten Ausbildungszeit stehen Mentoren mit Rat und Tat dem Nachwuchs zur Seite.
Durst hat für das erweiterte Traineeprogramm eine eigene Informationsseite ins Leben gerufen, wo sich Absolventen von technischen Berufs- und Oberschulen ausführlich informieren und sich bewerben können: Trainee Programm. Die Bewerbungsfrist für das Traineeprogramm ab Herbst 2018 läuft noch bis Ende Juni.

Brixen/Italy - 31.05.2018 - Durst, an inkjet pioneer and manufacturer of advanced digital printing and production technologies, unveiled the latest technology developments in large format print, service and software at the successful Durst Tech Days (May 18-19).
Over two days at the Durst headquarters in Brixen, South Tyrol, Italy, and its other manufacturing site in Lienz, East Tyrol, Austria, guests were told that sales of its new award-winning technology, the P5 platform, are building so fast that delivery times are now up to 10 weeks. Hot on the heels of winning the European Digital Press Association (EDP) Award for P5, which was presented to Durst CEO Christoph Gamper during FESPA, Durst reported first results from the successful P5 field-test at Panorama in Spain. Panorama printed around 24,000 sqm in the first month alone and everything is progressing well.
For the Durst Tech Days at Brixen the focus was on roll-to-roll printing systems, software and preventive maintenance concepts; at Lienz there were demonstrations of Durst P5 and Durst Water Technology for flatbed printing on the agenda. Tailored presentations were held over the two days.

In another step forward, first plans have been unveiled whereby print service providers can benefit from Durst's world-class technology without making a large initial capital outlay. The idea involves Durst investing in print businesses through a rent-first concept for up to four years. Those who qualify for the scheme will be offered a top-maintained pre-owned machine through a "full service contract".

Brixen/Italy - 18.05.2018 - Durst, a manufacturer of advanced digital printing and production technologies, has been awarded the prestigious European Digital Press Association (EDP) Award for "Best flatbed/hybrid printer > 250m/h".
The award was given for the new P5 platform with the new Durst P5 250 HS printing system, which was presented at the end of January at the Durst premises in Lienz, and attracted so much attention that even Austria 's Federal Chancellor Sebastian Kurz was informed about the innovation during a visit.
For Durst, the circle is now completed including introduction, field test, first installations and positive market response, as the EDP jury consists of 21 member magazines from all over Europe. The EDP Awards were presented at FESPA in Berlin.
"We are delighted with the EDP award because it proves that Durst P5 is a true innovation and the new benchmark in large format printing," said Christoph Gamper, CEO of Durst Group.
